Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Clinical Supervisor
Gottman Trained Level I & II
EMDR Trained Level I & II

Hello, and welcome! Let’s get the background and training covered first. I received my undergraduate degree from the College of New Rochelle and my MSW at Fordham University. I have been licensed as a social worker to practice in New York (1994) and Massachusetts (2004), currently actively licensed in Florida (2005). Thru the Florida Institute of Technology I completed my Behavior Analysis Certification (2010), previously certified in 2007 as a BCaBA. I am Adoption Competency Trained thru the Sylvia Thomas Center and DCF.

Always seeking viable skills and trainings my clients would benefit from, I am also Gottman Trained Level I & II (couples focused therapy), and EMDR Trained Level I & II (trauma focused therapy). Additionally I conduct comprehensive evaluations for the Federal Defenders Office and have provided expert testimony.

Choosing a therapist can be hard, especially if this is your first time seriously looking. If you are wondering if I am a good fit for you or your family, read on. Although I support people dealing with a variety of issues, there are some areas I particularly focus on. I specialize in the treatment of individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, infidelity, mood disorders, trauma and the autism spectrum disorder. As an adoptive parent myself, I take special interest in the unique pressures experienced by foster/adoptive children & families.

What can you expect from me? What is my personality like? I bring a fresh perspective by integrating creative techniques into behavioral interventions to elicit change. I believe the real benefit of therapy is not the 45 minutes spent in session. It is what you do from the time you leave the office, until you return, that makes the difference. I am action oriented and will provide you with a variety of tools and techniques to apply into your everyday life. Each time you come back, I will ask you for an update. Your feedback is vital in helping me to identify barriers towards your progress, competing factors, and of course, your personal style in approaches. It helps me to find that fine balance between challenging you to grow without overwhelming you. I tend to be rather direct and say what you may need to hear, vs. what you want to hear. Friends usually have that part covered.

Unusual facts about me:

  • I have trained service/therapy dogs.
  • I have enjoyed Equestrian jumping.
  • I have done missionary work in Jamaica.
